Aeonium diplocyclum
Pot Size

Aeonium diplocyclum is a truly distinctive and fascinating species to cultivate. During the winter growing season, its rosettes open fully and thrive, while in the summer dormancy period, they close tightly—sometimes forming an almost perfect egg or cup shape. Mature plants can develop large rosettes up to 20 cm in diameter, displaying colors that range from deep green to glaucous blue-green. This species produces only a single rosette and does not form offsets, making each plant a unique specimen.

Family: Crassulaceae. Subfamily: Sempervivoideae. Tribe: Aeonieae. Genus: Aeonium

Aeoniums prefer cool, mild weather and go dormant in summer. They grow best from winter to spring when temperatures range from 65–75 °F (18–24 °C) and humidity is higher. Keep soil lightly moist during the growing season. Less watering during summer dormancy unless leaves begin to shrivel.
