A charming succulent, common name as Mountain rose, Aeonium dodrantale generally forms a large central head, surrounded by lots of smaller rosettes. It offset freely and when given room to grow can form very large clusters. During summer dormancy, the rosettes close like small green roses.
Synonym(s): Sempervivum dodrantale, Greenovia dodrantalis, Greenovia gracilis, Sempervivum gracile
Family: Crassulaceae. Subfamily: Sempervivoideae. Tribe: Aeonieae. Genus: Aeonium
Aeoniums prefer cool, mild weather and may go dormant in hot or dry conditions. They grow best from winter to spring when temperatures range from 65–75 °F (18–24 °C) and humidity is higher. Keep soil lightly moist during the growing season. Less watering during summer dormancy unless leaves begin to shrivel.
